Broken Social Scene @ UT 1/31/08
Broken Social Scene will grace the Bass Performance Hall at UT on January 31 next year. Tickets are only $10 for students... and $22.50/27.50 for non-students. They're already half-gone I believe and they just went on sale a couple days ago. Drop that phone, park that car, buy your ticket. No, Feist will not be there. Haha.

Photoshoots, Food, and Shopping... mmm...
I will be in Dallas until Saturday... maybe Sunday.
I plan on going crazy on Black Friday. It's a yearly tradition for me and it always always always pays off. It is probably the best day of shopping ... ever. From the research I've done, Circuit City seems like the winner over Best Buy right now. Of course, Target and Northpark will be hit up. QT for some 4 a.m. coffee, mmm. And I will raid Nordstrom Rack this weekend like never before. I just want to spend some freaking money and release my stress...
There's also this party downtown on Black Friday... mayhaps I will go with one of you?
I pretty much just want to avoid my huge marketing analysis and presentation I have to have done by Monday. and my journalism test I have on Monday. and my international business test I have on Monday.

Anyway, I also wanted to say I tried Cookie Lounge with Dani last week. I got a medium Creamy Brown Sugar cookie with El Rey White Chocolate and it was pretty amazing. I wouldn't say it's comparable to Tiff's Treats just because it's more custom-made and gourmet. Tiff's Treats has better comfort cookies... like the kind you want to make at home but it never turns out the way you want. Cookie Lounge is like... who puts these crazy ingredients in their cookie? I don't know but it's damn good. Anyway, it's by Pluckers on 23rd and Rio Grande.

Last week I had a little fun with my friend Jennifer and Chris.
The Daily Texan popped along near the end when we were by the Hi, How Are You frog.

And lastly, here is Charlie in the American Apparel Fleece Dog Vest he he..
Have a good thanksgiving!!

How To Kill A Fruit Fly
There is a fruit fly infestation at my house.
Not only is there a fruit fly infestation, there are random dirty wads of kleenex hiding in between sofa seat pads, candy wrappers underneath couches, random particles of cereal stuck to my feet... I am about to kill an innocent child or a super cute and furry animal right about now... :)
ANYWAY,
while looking up ways to kill fruit flies... I found some interesting and creative ways to kill fruit flies that makes me wonder how anyone came up with these...
1. Hair dryer method
- Locate the general area of the fruit flies and the nearest plug. Get a hair dryer.
- Plug in the hair dryer, turn it on (preferably to full heat) and put the back end of the dryer near a hovering fly. It will be sucked in and fried by the hair dryer. This is fun and highly effective! Trying to blow at them with the hot air doesn't work well, but sucking them in like this does.
2. How-did-you-figure-this-out method...??
Combine 1 pint milk, 1/4 lb raw sugar and 2 ounces ground pepper in a saucepan and simmer for 8-10 minutes. Pour it in a shallow dish and watch the flies attack and consequently
suffocate.
3. Frances Lin Method
Buy a blowtorch and avada kedavra, you motherfuckers.

Students Egg Obama Poster at Anti-Obama Rally at Texas A&M
This is wrong on so many levels.
I don't know how I just caught wind of this, but it was brought up today in my journalism class.
The sad thing is my journalism teacher is probably conservative and he described it as "a poor way of students expressing their feelings."
Oh cut the crap please!
This is pure racism. At a school where they have time and time again been classified as closed-minded red-neck conservatives. Why in the world would you want to reinforce that?
I just don't understand how people can do this to each other.
I am angry!!

The Go! Team
The Go! Team has a site with free stuff including songs, remixes, etc.
You can access it here.
If I had the choice to be in a band, it would most definitely be this one!!!
I saw them in Paris this past summer, and it was so amazing.

Anyhow, Diplo on Friday was awesome.
We got to dance on stage with a hot dog and a pizza, then hang out with them afterward.
It was a pretty crazy night that consisted of mysterious afterparties, boys in Ghostface Killah hats, and bringing Red Bull to a band I saw open for Oasis a few years ago at 3:30 in the morning.
I ended up not going to see The National yesterday. It just wasn't fit for my state of mind. I don't know if that makes any sense to you, but hopefully the next time they come, I'll have someone to go with so it won't be so depressing...
Lastly, I'm debating to go see Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! tonight... does requesting off of work include mandatory nights of inventory...?

I stumbled across this on Austin360.com, lol. Me, Karinne, and Lindsay enjoying some free Ben&Jerry's on Election Day. Cherry Garcia!!!

Ok, and then today I was making a survey with my roommate for my marketing research class. We were on the question of specifying your ethnicity... and then I was like ... why do minorities in America only have that tag-line after their ethnicity. Like... African-American... and Asian-American? I know people say it because we should all be American. But what if you're from like the UK or Australia.. or idk. Zimbabwe. What if you are Asian-Zimbabwian... what are you?
Just a thought.

Finally, if you want amazing deals on amazing shoes, you should go to Feathers Boutique on South Congress... because it's unhealthy, and that's a good thing!
